Again, like moon phases, a big magnet isn’t exactly paranormal, its more a subject that comes up a lot in ufology and paranormal topics and I just wanted a shirt with a big magnet on it.
So Illustrator has a filter called “Extrude & Bevel” and thats what I used to create the basic 3d shape of the magnet. I started with a simple magnet shape in Illustrator, created by modifying a couple of circles…

So the Illuminati is an old group that used to exist and a modern group that may or may not exist. I sincerely hope they don’t, but I’m not totally convinced either way. If you have no idea what I’m talking about then this would all sound pretty crazy to you. In a nutshell the Illuminati, if they exist, wants to create a new world order, in which an elite group controls everybody else. In order for this to take place there would need to be one world government or one governing body controlling just about everybody on the planet and these dudes would be in control of that governing body essentially. Why would anybody want to do this? I actually have no idea, and I personally don’t see how any one group of people could effectively manage everybody on the planet. I don’t think we can manage everybody in the United Sates effectively as it is.

So what the heck is that supposed to mean? Am I a jerk or what?
There are several designs that I have in various stages of production that don’t really have any sort of grand or secret meaning. I include them because I like the design and the subject matter is related and comes up often in paranormal topics. The moon is definitely one of them. Whether it’s ancient astronauts or secret military programs or alien bases mining helium 3, the moon comes up a lot in conversations about the unknown.
There wasn’t much design work to do for this shirt, and it may not necessarily belong on this site, but it always makes me smile. There wasn’t a lot of design work to do because it was mostly done for me. At the first design job I took out of college, I often would talk to people about ghost stories or paranormal stuff and this was actually on my computer monitor once when I got up to go use the bathroom or something. I just liked the idea that a ghost comes by to haunt the place, there is nobody around, so the spirit leaves a haunted calling card. Sorry we missed you, boo.

The Close Encounters of the Third Kind motion picture came out a little early for me, actually one year before I was born, but it’s one of my favorite films. I like everything about it, but in general I like how Steven Spielberg and the producers of the film took the subject of UFOs and alien encounters and abduction seriously. There wasn’t anything camp or tongue in cheek about it. I’m not gonna go into a whole big thing about it, but all the movies involving extra terrestrial life that are on my favorite list are almost all there for that reason.
Many people that claim to have witnessed ufo or extra terrestrial activity also claim to have been threatened by military officials. It happened at Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 and it happened in Stephenville, Texas in 2008, just to name a couple of famous examples. People were threatened with incarceration or worse if they were ever to speak to anyone about what they saw. Based on eyewitness accounts, its clear that the government has been suppressing information as to the true nature of the ufo activity.
Loch Ness is the largest fresh water lake in Scotland. It has murky black water going as far down as a thousand feet in places and the debate about whether or not it is home to a population of unknown aquatic creatures has gone on for many years. Many people have seen the famous surgeon’s photograph and when it was later discovered to be a hoax, just a modified childs toy with some dramatic lighting, the debate was over. The loch ness monster is bull. The end. But for those who have seen the creature first hand, no amount of photographic fakery is going to change their mind about it.
I think most people have heard the name thunderbird, but I dont think we really make the connection between the creature that inspired the car (or mail application) and an actual living bird that may still exist in our own back yard. Thunderbirds are common symbol in native american tradition and folklore, so you’d have to ask yourself was this thing a living creature or purely a product of their imagination? If they did in fact see a giant bird flying around, is it possible that some of them still exist today?
This was something I had wanted to do for a long time, but I couldn’t think of how to use it. Ink splat ghosts. A year or so ago I started a design company called Thunked Up Media, and one of my ideas for marketing was to create a tshirt with original ink blots on them. You know the ones you see psychiatrists using in movies where you look at these abstract ink blobs and describe what you see? I can’t think of the name right now. Anyway we were experimenting with a method to create one of a kind ink splat shirts and they would say Thunked Up Media on them and everything. I guess what I’m saying is that I”ve been flinging paint on stuff for years now and trying to figure out how to turn those blobs into things.
